How to Stay Active With an Office Job

Summary: Being active can prove to be difficult if you have an office job that requires you to stay at your desk for most of the day. Below are some ideas on how you can still stay active.

Good health is something many people understand is important. Staying active, in one way or another, keeps our bodies in shape and keeps us mentally sharp. However, working in an office job can unfortunately feel very restricting. Staying at your desk for hours on end can make it tough to reach your fitness goals, but there are ways you can incorporate activity into your office job. Continue reading for some tips on how to stay fit.

Jog to Work

If you are concerned that you will not be able to move around much once you get to the office and plop down on your foam mattress at your desk, you can get some activity in before and after work. If manageable, try to walk, jog, or bike to and from the office. Leave the house a little earlier, put some comfortable shoes on, turn your music or favorite podcast on, and enjoy the trip.

This could end up taking longer than a normal drive in your car would, but the activity in the morning will leave you feeling energized, happy, and ready to tackle whatever challenge comes your way when you step foot in your office.

Move Around at Your Desk

You can also stay active once you are at your desk. Sitting may not be ideal, but The Foam Factory and other stores sell memory foam cushions that will make working more comfortable. Every 30 minutes get up from your desk to stretch, do some jumping jacks, or push-ups to get your heart pumping. This will help relieve any potential pain caused by sitting for extended periods of time.
