Bill Paxton Dies at 61
Paxton who has performed in Big Love and Titanic has died at the age of 61 from complications from his surgery.
The Texan started his career in movies like The Terminator and Weird Science. He then moved on to larger roles like Aliens, Twister, Titanic, and the HBO series Big Love.
In a statement, HBO expressed sadness at the loss of the Big Love star. The show was one that went on for five seasons on HBO and Paxton was an extraordinary talent that brought a lot to the shows charm and character. They went on to say that the actor was warm, smart and fun and was a true friend to many on HBO.
The actor had 4 Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy Award nomination during his career. He also won a SAG in 1996, for his and the cast’s outstanding performance in Apollo 13.
Paxton was married to his wife Louise Newbury for 30 years and has two children, daughter Lydia Paxton and son James Paxton.
The actor’s son once spoke about the opportunity to work beside his father; he said that he was honored to land a guest role alongside his father in the 2017 Series Training Day. James said that he was so glad to work with his dad that he jumped at the possibility and he added that this was one of the proudest moments in his life.
